Debby Update: Two-Hour Delay for Spotsylvania Schools Transition Day on Friday
Power is out in parts of Spotsylvania and Stafford counties.

The Caroline County Fire and Rescue department reports that crews are on the scene in the Lake Caroline area due to reports of severe weather. “We are working on assessing damage and ask that all residents remain inside as we have several reports of trees and wires down throughout the community,” a post to the department’s Facebook page reads.
Update 8:45 p.m.
Spotsylvania schools will open two hours late tomorrow, August 9, for Transition Day for kindergarten, 6th and 9th grade students.
Dominion Energy is reporting power outages in Spotsylvania and Stafford counties. Two thousand customers are without power in Spotsylvania and 500 in Spotsylvania. In total, 6,353 Dominion clients are without power as of 8:30 p.m.
Rappahannock Electric Cooperative is reporting 23 active power outages affecting 3,009 members.
A tornado watch is in effect for Fredericksburg City and Stafford, Spotsylvania, Caroline, and King George counties through 7 a.m. on Friday morning, according to the National Weather Service.
