History Thursday: 228 Princess Anne Street

Previous owners of this house on lower Princess Anne Street include John Henry Lee, who was born into slavery at Santee in Caroline County; Cordley Wright, who owned a barbershop in downtown; James Wright, an Army veteran and employee at the Sylvania cellophane plant; and his wife Mamie, a longtime teacher in Stafford County schools.
